Abstract

In this study, a naphthalene-1-sulfonamide/2-hydroxybenzaldehyde conjugation as a selective probe (probe L) was designed for the selective recognition of Pb2+. Probe L displayed an obvious fluorescence enhancement upon binding to Pb2+ in CH3CN solution. The association constant of probe L-Pb2+ complex was calculated to be 7.68 × 108 M−1, and the detection limit for Pb2+ was found to be 23.2 ppb.
