FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER (SW/SE U.S.)
Primary Responsibilities: Performs full range of installations and repairs of spectrometry and chromatography products. Verifies performance on installed units on a regular basis. Troubleshoots and resolves difficult service situations. Works independently and prioritizes work schedule of service calls. Secondary responsibilities: Maintains own tool and parts inventory to ensure adequate supply. Maintains and enhances technical knowledge on company product lines through attendance and participation at in-house training programs, travel, telephone contact with manager and technical specialists. Performs all administrative duties including case handling procedures, etc. Required interactions: Sales team, service engineers and managers, technical support, and field applications
Required Skills/Knowledge: Skills normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree (B.S. /B.A.) in Life Science, Engineering, or equivalent levels of job training and experience, five- plus years of field service engineering or technical support. Proven Field Service experience and familiarity with chromatography and/or spectroscopy is preferred. Job skills: Strong technical skills required to install and repair analytical instruments for chemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology labs. Strong analytical skills to assess and prioritize account service needs. Effective communication and customer service skills.
Job Knowledge: Intermediate electro-mechanical or laboratory knowledge of analytical instrumentation including Chromatography, Spectroscopy, Microscopy. Additional job abilities: Can perform independently and as part of a team. Must be able to travel within assigned geography and other territories in the U.S. Ability to instill customer satisfaction that is recognizable and valuable to the customer.
