Analysis of Allantoin using HILIC HPLC

January 5, 2024

Introduction

Allantoin analysis
LC-2000 HPLC system

Allantoin is a urea hydantoin that has an anti-inflammatory effect as well as acting as cellular activator and therefore commonly used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. Allantoin is highly hydrophilic, and it is recommended that a column is used that works using a separation mechanism based on hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC). The analysis of commercial eyedrops were measured as reported in this note.
