Introduction

Jasco V-1000 Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectrometer
Jasco V-1000 Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectrometer

The V-1000 was designed to evaluate optical properties in the wavelength range between 115 and 300 nm. Typically, instrument optical paths for analyses in this range have to be evacuated due to the strong absorption of oxygen. The V-1000 provides rapid sample measurement without evacuation of the entire instrument by using a nitrogen purge. Superior photometric reproducibility is achieved by using a double monochromator for elimination of stray light and a reference stabilized double-beam system to maintain baseline stability. These features allow the analysis of solid and liquid samples.

Applications in Optics and Material Science Research

  • Lens
  • Transparent material in VUV (MgF2, CaF2)
  • Anti-reflection coatings in VUV
  • New Material for VUV (Fluorine-doped quartz)
  • Mirrors for VUV
  • Quartz windows
