Abstract
Blue-emitting (Hf1−xEux)P2O7−δ (0≤x≤0.14) phosphors were prepared in air atmosphere by a liquid-phase method and photoluminescent properties were characterized. The pyrophosphate phosphors exhibit typical emission band assigned to the transition from 4f65d1 to 4f7 of Eu2+. The highest blue emission intensity was obtained for (Hf0.89Eu0.11)P2O7−δ, of which the relative emission intensity was 28% compared to that of the commercial blue-emitting (Ba0.90Eu0.10)MgAl10O17 phosphor.
