JASCO Releases a Simplistic Approach to Raman Spectroscopy

October 1, 2020

Building upon the high performance capabilities of the top end NRS-5000/7000 series Raman instruments, JASCO has released a new compact and easy-to-use NRS-4100 Series Laser Raman Spectrometer. The NRS-4100 has many of the great features and performance of its larger siblings with a whole host of new technological innovations and greater performance.

Measuring just 24” tall, 22” wide, 24” deep and weighing only 120lbs., this system is truly compact and lightweight. The use of a versatile three-laser system at 457nm, 532nm and 785nmm and a spectrograph resolution down to 0.7cm-1/pixel makes the NRS-4100 ideal for many of the everyday applications in R&D, Forensics and QC.

The NRS-4100 has options for both manual and automated X-Y-Z stages and can be used with temperature control stages for high temperature measurement.

The standard measurement range is 8000 to 50 cm-1 (532nm laser with edge filter), with a choice of up to 9 different wavelengths (405 to 1064nm) from up to three different lasers mounted internally. The NRS-4100 also utilizes JASCO’s highest resolution CMOS observation camera with 200MP imaging and laser spot imaging at all wavelengths.

Both automatic optical-path alignment and Raman-scattering adjustment are included as standard and can be executed from a single mouse-click in the Spectra Manager II software. Additionally, the Raman light path can be auto-aligned when switching between lasers. The standard NRS-4100 spectrometer features two imaging-lenses with high and low power objectives for better quality imaging of the laser spot on the sample.
